Samsung has continued to innovate wonderful devices, offering
some of the most reliable Smartphone devices. The company has always offered
better new device features, with every new launch. We have compared the Samsung
Galaxy Express with the Galaxy Grand to show the innovative progress.
Design
The Galaxy S 3 has slightly bigger dimensions (5.38 x 2.78 x
0.34 inches) than the Galaxy Express (5.22 x 2.73 x 0.36 inches), in terms of
the body structure. The Galaxy S 3 is
heavier than the Galaxy Express by 13 grams. The Galaxy Express has a more
curved body than the Galaxy S3. The upgrade in design also offers smoother
handling.
Display
The Galaxy S3 has a 4.8 inches Super AMOLED Multi capacitive
display with resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels offering 306 ppi pixel density.
The Galaxy Express has a smaller 4.5 inches Super AMOLED Plus Multi capacitive
display with resolution of 480x800 pixels offering 207 ppi pixel density. The
Galaxy S3 offer better viewing experience, though, at a lower price range the
Galaxy Express matches up to the competition.
Operating System
The Galaxy S3 comes with the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
operating system which is upgradable to the 4.1 JellyBean OS version. The
Galaxy Express comes with the 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system from the box.
Samsung is offering the latest version of Android operating system on all its
new launches. However, the JellyBean update for the older Galaxy S3 shows that
Samsung cares about satisfaction even amongst its existing customers. This is
also a good long term sales strategy as customer loyalty towards the brand will
remain intact.
Processor & RAM
The Galaxy S3 has a 1500 MHz dual core processor with 2GB of
RAM, while the Galaxy Express has a 1200 MHz dual core processor offering 1GB
of RAM. The Galaxy S3 and the Galaxy Express are almost neck to neck in terms
of performance even though the Galaxy S3 has higher RAM.
Camera
While the Galaxy S3 has a 8MP rear camera and 1.9MP front
camera, the
Galaxy Express
has a 5MP rear camera and a 1.3MP front camera. Both devices have LED flash
feature for the rear camera. Further, The Galaxy S can record videos at 1080p
while the Express performs the same function at a lower resolution of 720p.
Also, the Galaxy S3 has additional features such as
Back-illuminated sensor (BSI), CMOS image sensor, Auto focus, Face detection,
Exposure compensation, ISO control, White balance presets, Burst mode, Geo
tagging, High Dynamic Range mode (HDR), Panorama, Scenes, Effects and Self-timer.
While the Galaxy Express cannot match up to the Galaxy S3 with all the
features, it has the latest features for camera that most mid range devices in
its category has and more.
Connectivity options
The Galaxy S3 offers connectivity features such as 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, DLNA, and HSPA+. The
Galaxy Express offers more advanced connectivity options including 2G,
3G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth,
Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Wi-Fi Direct, MHL, NFC, and GPS with AGPS. The Galaxy
Express offers all the latest connectivity options such as NFC, 4G LTE
connectivity and GPS with AGPS making it a great device at a reasonable price
for those who are hooked to the Smartphone for staying connected.
Memory & Battery
The Galaxy S3 has been packed with oodles of inbuilt storage at
32GB and it can be expanded up to 64GB externally. However, the Galaxy Express
with an 8GB internal memory and a 32GB expandable memory is quite good for a
Smartphone at its price range.
The Galaxy S3 also has a more powerful 2100mAh Li-Ion battery
while the Galaxy Express has a 2000mAh Li-Ion battery.
Both devices promise a long run to enjoy the great features
they have to offer.
Verdict
Both the phones are available in different price ranges.
However, the Galaxy Express is a new arrival and comes with more modern
features. However, the Galaxy S3 has all the great features for device of its
price range like a powerful processor with huge RAM, loads of memory and a
bigger screen. Considering the price difference between the two phones, the
Galaxy Express can be declared a winner for its latest features at a lower
price.
